Texas Golf with Real Variety

Horseshoe Bay Resort is one of those places that feels built for a proper golf trip. Set in Texas Hill Country on the shores of Lake LBJ, it gives you more than just one headline course. You’ve got three distinct Robert Trent Jones Sr. layouts to rotate between, which is a big part of the appeal. Slick Rock is the most relaxed and playable of the three, Apple Rock brings the big views over the lake and a more scenic championship feel, while Ram Rock is the stern test, with tighter targets and a more demanding layout.

Off the course, the resort has a polished but easygoing feel, with hotel rooms and suites, spa facilities, pool areas, and a good mix of casual and waterfront dining. It’s not a remote, rugged golf lodge type of stay – it’s more of a full-service resort where you can play serious golf, then settle into a comfortable room and a proper dinner afterward.
