Hard Rock Hotel Cancun is at Km 14.5 on Kukulcan Boulevard, right in the heart of Cancun’s Hotel Zone and about 20–25 minutes from Cancun International Airport. It has 601 rooms, a beachfront setting and a reliably upbeat atmosphere. If you want a resort where something is always going on, this is it.

There’s no course on site, but that’s less of an issue than it sounds. The resort’s golf partner is Riviera Cancun Golf Club, a Jack Nicklaus Signature design that opened in 2008 just outside the Hotel Zone near the airport. It’s a serious test:

Par 72, playing 7,060 yards from the black tees with a 146 slope, so this isn’t a course to take lightly.
It’s routed through mangroves, dunes and lakes, with wooden bridges crossing the water and a nature reserve around the edges.
Holes 14 and 15 have the course’s ocean views.
The Nicklaus bunkering sits right where your drives want to land, and the greens are quick and contoured.

Most golfers will be happier from the white (6,292 yards) or yellow (5,742 yards) tees. If you want something closer, the Iberostar Cancun course is next door to the hotel, and the Hard Rock Golf Club in the Riviera Maya is about an hour south.

Key Information

This is a beach resort with golf nearby, not a golf resort, and it’s worth setting your expectations accordingly. The good news is that the golf you get to play is very good.

Courses: There are no courses on site. The main option is Riviera Cancun (Jack Nicklaus), about 25–30 minutes away, with Iberostar Cancun next door for a quicker round.
Golf offer: The Top Golf Offer includes unlimited rounds at Riviera Cancun for two adults per room, plus early check-in and late check-out. It’s currently bookable for travel through December 18, 2026.
Getting to the course: Transportation to the course is not included, and there’s an extra fee. We can arrange this as part of your package.
Resort credit: If you’re not on the golf offer, your resort credit can be used toward green fees and shared carts at regular rates.
Level of play: Riviera Cancun is tough from the back tees, so mid-handicappers should move up a set. Book morning tee times, since the course closes in the late afternoon and the heat builds quickly after midday.
