The Eagle Creek Experience: Orlando’s Hidden Gem
At a glance, you’ll find that Eagle Creek Golf Club is a pretty unique inland Florida offering. Designed by the highly respected team of Mike Dasher and Clyde Johnston, the course opened in the early 2000s, bringing a fresh, thoughtful layout to the Orlando area. It’s a par 73 track, which is a little unusual and definitely keeps things interesting. That number comes from a nice mix of five par 3s and five par 5s, balancing the eight par 4s.
The course stretches out to around 7,200 yards from the back tees, which provides a sturdy test for any player, but it’s quite playable from the various other sets of tees. Worth noting, this is a semi-private setup, meaning the conditioning is kept high year-round, but it’s readily available for travelers and resort guests, giving you a top-tier playing experience without the exclusivity hassles.

Key Information
The real charm of Eagle Creek is in its thoughtful routing and genuinely beautiful surroundings. So many Orlando courses feel manufactured, but Dasher and Johnston managed to weave this track through live oak trees and natural wetlands, giving it a real sense of place. It’s not a short course, but it’s one that encourages smart play rather than just brute force. The fairways are generous enough that you won’t feel squeezed on every tee box, but water is an ever-present strategic element. It’s easy to see why many guests love the distinct feel of the nines.
The front nine is a little more exposed in places, demanding good ball striking early on. The back nine, however, feels slightly more intimate, winding around the property’s natural boundaries. You’ll find the par-5 eighth hole to be a real highlight, sweeping along the creek and demanding two excellent shots to set up a good finish, or perhaps the drivable par-4 13th, which presents a genuine risk-reward opportunity over a water carry. The conditioning is always superb, featuring true, rolling greens and sturdy turf, making every round a pleasure.
