The Italian Heartland of Central Florida Golf
For many golfers, the first visit to Bella Collina is quite a pleasant surprise. This is not your typical flat Florida resort track. The layout, a highly regarded design by Sir Nick Faldo, opened in 2007. It’s a standard par 72, stretching over 7,500 yards from the tips, which tells you right away this course is a genuine test for even the best players. That said, with multiple tee decks, it’s easily enjoyable for all handicaps.
You’ll find it’s a championship-caliber private access course set within a luxury residential and resort community. Worth noting, the course takes full advantage of the region’s dramatic rolling terrain, a feature that distinguishes it immediately within the Orlando area.

Key Information
The genius of Faldo’s design here is how he managed to take Central Florida‘s little-known hills and craft a golf course that feels genuinely European, almost as if it were transplanted from the Italian countryside. It’s easy to see why many guests love the distinct elevation changes and the dramatic bunkering. The routing is strategic and demands intelligent course management, not just brute strength. You’ll find the front nine plays a little tighter, often winding through natural wetlands and requiring pinpoint accuracy off the tee.
That challenge sets up beautifully for the inward nine. Once you make the turn, the course opens up a bit, giving way to sweeping vistas and bolder, more dramatic bunkering around the greens. The overall atmosphere here is quiet and refined; you truly feel like you’ve left the theme park crowds far behind. The signature hole, the par three 11th, is pretty unforgettable, demanding a precise shot over water to a green framed by a stunning backdrop of the clubhouse and the lake.

Montverde Magic: Planning Your Tailored Trip
The setting of Bella Collina is simply gorgeous, positioned right in the gently rolling hills of Montverde, just a short drive from the buzz of Orlando, yet completely removed from it. This contrast is key; you get the convenience of a major destination with the secluded luxury of a private escape. The atmosphere is upscale, and the service level across the entire resort is exceptional. Travelers will find practice facilities that are truly championship-caliber, including an extensive range and greens designed to match the on-course speed.
The incredible Tuscan-style clubhouse, a massive 75,000 square foot architectural marvel, is the centerpiece. It hosts high-level dining options, making that post-round meal or evening a decadent affair. Everything about this resort is geared toward providing a complete, luxury vacation.
