Verdura Links, now known as the East Course, is a premier championship layout at the exclusive Verdura Resort on Sicily’s beautiful southwest coast. The resort first opened in 2009, and this particular course was redesigned by the renowned architect Kyle Phillips, who also created Kingsbarns in Scotland.
It plays as a challenging par 73, stretching close to 7,400 yards from the back tees, making it a proper test of length and precision. The style of the course is undeniably links-like, incorporating the natural coastal environment with wide, flowing fairways and huge, strategic bunker complexes. As part of a five-star Rocco Forte resort, access is seamlessly arranged, promising an immaculate playing surface and a thoroughly luxurious experience for the golf traveler.

Key Information
The brilliance of the Verdura Links lies in its ability to feel like a classic, wind-swept links course while being firmly rooted in the Mediterranean. Kyle Phillips took inspiration from traditional British seaside courses, evident in the minimal mowing lines and the use of natural, native grasses contrasting with the manicured playing surfaces. The East Course routing takes full advantage of the dramatic coastline, offering Mediterranean views from practically every hole.
The course has a wonderful flow, but the coastal stretch is what you’ll remember most. The short par-three 6th is often called the ‘Postage Stamp’ for its exposed green perched right along the sea, demanding a precise, nerve-racking carry, especially when the coastal breeze is up. That said, the finish is truly spectacular. The final holes, particularly the 17th and 18th, climb to a high point, providing elevated tees with crashing views down the coastline as you head back toward the clubhouse. It’s an imaginative, rewarding course that demands both strategic thought and confident ball-striking to manage the varied terrain and the inevitable wind.
