The Titan of Asian Golf

Mission Hills Shenzhen is on a scale that few golf destinations can match. The wider Shenzhen-Dongguan complex is known for its huge collection of signature courses, with layouts created by Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, Ernie Els, José María Olazábal, Greg Norman, Annika Sörenstam and other major names.

The World Cup Course is a natural starting point. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, it stretches to 7,294 yards and combines water, large bunkers and a proper championship feel. It hosted the 1995 World Cup of Golf, the first major international golf tournament staged in China. Over in Dongguan, the Olazábal Course is another standout. At 7,320 yards with 151 bunkers, rolling fairways and natural streams, it provides one of the toughest tests at Mission Hills. It hosted three consecutive World Cups from 2007 to 2009 as well as the 2012 WGC-HSBC Champions.

Away from golf, the wider resort setup includes accommodation, restaurants, clubhouses and leisure facilities. Shenzhen itself adds another dimension to the trip, particularly if you want to combine several days of golf with time exploring one of China’s biggest modern cities.
