Stay at Fota Island Resort
In addition to providing nice lodging, Fota Island Resort in Cork provides a good round of golf. The well-kept championship golf course has a variety of open parkland holes and tree-lined fairways, along with some difficult water hazards that will challenge your ability to make shots. Though it calls for careful play, it’s not particularly challenging.
With lots of green space and pleasant views of the nearby nature reserve, the resort has a laid-back and friendly atmosphere. You can relax with a drink at the bar, eat casually at the clubhouse restaurant or stay in contemporary rooms or suites after your round. The resort isn’t ostentatious, but it offers good service and all the amenities a golfer might want.
Perfect for tourists seeking a pleasant location, convenient access to Cork, and fantastic golf.

Key Information
The Deerpark Course feels like classic parkland golf, calm and steady, with fairways that look welcoming but still reward good placement. The gentle slopes add just enough movement to keep things interesting. Greens roll smoothly, and the wooded setting gives the whole round a relaxed, almost secluded feel. It is simple to settle in and enjoy the pace here.
The Belvelly Course brings water into play more often, so shots feel a touch more focused without becoming stressful. Fairways open and tighten as you move around the lakes, creating a fun mix of challenges. Light island breezes and wetland views make the round feel lively and scenic from start to finish.
The Barryscourt Course is the most strategic of the three, with lines that shift between open approaches and tree lined stretches. It encourages thoughtful club choices but stays friendly for all levels. Conditions are solid, the greens are receptive, and the quiet pockets of nature give the round an easy rhythm.
