The course truly lives up to its name, “The Chameleon,” constantly changing character as it winds through its varied landscape. Greg Norman’s design philosophy here focused on environmental integration, making the natural features the core of the challenge. The front nine plunges deep into the mangrove forest and jungle, demanding precise drives to avoid the dense vegetation. The Mayan canals crisscross the layout, bringing water into play strategically.

That said, the most spectacular element is the cenote, a massive, deep limestone cave feature that is right in the middle of the par-four 7th hole, demanding a confident carry or a careful layup. The course culminates in two stunning oceanfront holes, the par-three 15th and the par-four 16th, which play right alongside the Caribbean Sea, giving you a proper taste of seaside golf. It’s a visually intense, strategic course that requires high levels of accuracy to navigate the narrow corridors and tricky, subtle green complexes.
