The Tropical Oasis
For the experienced traveler seeking luxury and convenience, Bali Hai is often the top choice when vacationing in Vegas. You won’t find a more accessible, high-quality round anywhere in the destination. Opened in 2000 and designed by Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley, this course completely redefines the desert golf experience.
They imported over 2,500 mature palm trees and crafted 7 acres of water features to create this tropical illusion just minutes from McCarran Airport. It plays as a challenging par 71, reaching a robust 7,002 yards from the tips. Every yard feels like resort golf elevated to a tournament-level standard. It’s strictly a high-end daily-fee resort course, and they commit entirely to delivering a white-glove service experience to every guest walking off the Strip.

Key Information
The design philosophy at Bali Hai is clear: maximize the tropical ambiance while demanding precise shot-making. Unlike the rugged, natural desert courses nearby, this is pure artistry, featuring immaculate conditioning year-round. You’ll find generous landing areas off the tee, but the course tightens up considerably on approach shots. Water hazards and the signature, dramatic bunkering—some of it designed with crushed white sand that truly pops against the green—come into play frequently, especially on the back nine.
The most famous feature is the 16th hole, a truly captivating par three. It plays across a large lake to a challenging, multi-tiered island green that is framed beautifully by palms. It’s an intimidating, yet fun, moment that often decides the fate of your round. That said, the entire layout flows wonderfully, offering a strong mix of holes that never feel repetitive. The constant visual contrast of the lush fairways against the backdrop of the iconic Mandalay Bay and Luxor hotel-casinos is something you’ll definitely remember.

Beyond the Fairways, A Seamless Golf Vacation
The greatest asset of Bali Hai is its unbeatable location. Being right on the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip means you have effortless access to the world-class hotels, dining, and entertainment options that define a Vegas vacation. There’s virtually no travel time, allowing you to maximize your enjoyment both on and off the course.
The amenities here are top-tier, designed for the high-end traveler. The practice facilities are excellent, perfect for a focused warm-up. The highlight, however, is the clubhouse. With its traditional South Pacific, open-air design, it offers a perfect retreat and features the high-quality Cili Restaurant, a superb place to host a group or simply reflect on your round over dinner. They offer personalized service that makes securing your rental clubs, check-in, and cart logistics completely effortless. This golf club is best experienced as part of a tailored package that bundles your high-end lodging and guaranteed prime tee times.
