Links in the Heartland of Orlando
Royal St. Cloud Links offers experienced travelers a welcome detour from the typical Florida resort experience. Opened in 2001 and meticulously maintained, this 27-hole layout was conceived by Chip Powell with a vision to bring a genuine links sensibility to the Sunshine State. It’s a challenging, par-72 test from the tips, stretching just over 7,100 yards across the three nines: Red, White, and Blue.
Its semi-private status ensures excellent course conditioning and a steady pace of play, meaning you’ll get the kind of uninterrupted round you want on vacation. Worth noting, the lack of residential development surrounding the course truly enhances the feeling of having stepped into a different, more natural golf environment.

Key Information
What immediately strikes you at Royal St. Cloud is the sheer openness. There are almost no trees in play, and that is very much by design. The entire 27 holes roll and heave across the central Florida plain, creating a wonderful canvas for true links golf. You’ll find expansive fairways bordered by native grasses, but miss too far and those characteristic deep pot bunkers or steep mounds really come into play. The design philosophy rewards the kind of bump and run creativity that American golfers don’t often get to practice.
The greens are quite large and move fast, putting a premium on finding the right section to avoid a three putt. Many guests love the variety offered by the three different nine hole loops; the Red Nine feels a little more traditional, while the White and Blue Nines really showcase the rolling terrain and deep hazards. A round here is a great test of your entire skillset, challenging your ability to manage the wind and think your way around a truly unique Florida course.

Beyond the Fairways, A Seamless Golf Vacation
Royal St. Cloud Links sits just south of Orlando, making it perfectly accessible whether you’re staying near the theme parks or a little further out in a quieter part of the state. That positioning is key, offering a great contrast to the manicured, water-heavy resort courses you’ll find closer to the city center. It’s a genuine escape. The practice facilities here are outstanding; they include a large driving range and dedicated short game areas that mimic the tight lies and firm conditions of the course itself, which is exactly what an experienced player looks for.
The recently updated clubhouse provides a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere for post-round dining or just a casual drink. It’s easy to see why so many experienced travelers put this course on their Florida golf itinerary. When you’re ready to build a tailored vacation package that balances world-class Orlando amenities with this singular links experience, we’re here to help. Just reach out, and we’ll start planning your perfect trip.
