What truly makes the Robber’s Row Course stand out among Hilton Head’s offerings is its wonderful blend of original, classic parkland architecture and Pete Dye’s signature strategic challenge. You’ll find yourself moving through beautiful, mature stands of live oak and magnolia trees, especially along the scenic marsh side of the property. While the fairways are pretty generous off the tee, which is a welcome relief for the casual golfer, the real work begins with the approach shots.

Dye ensured the greens are exceptionally well-protected by deep, sculpted bunkers and subtle contours. It places a huge premium on mid to short iron precision. That said, the routing is fantastic, featuring several challenging doglegs and a memorable quartet of par-three holes that often play over water or to elevated greens. It’s a layout that rewards the thoughtful golfer who can execute accurate iron shots, making a par here feel well-earned.
