Blackwolf Run is the original cornerstone of Destination Kohler’s golf empire, opening in 1988 and preceding the drama of Whistling Straits. It is home to two distinctly different, yet equally compelling, 18-hole courses: The River Course and The Meadow Valleys Course. Both were designed by the master architect Pete Dye and showcase his unparalleled ability to blend golf architecture seamlessly into natural terrain.
Having hosted the U.S. Women’s Open and several other major championships, these courses offer a proven test of skill. The layouts feature severe elevation changes, dramatic waterside holes, and the rugged aesthetic signature of Pete Dye. While The River is generally regarded as the slightly more formidable test, both play over 7,000 yards from the back tees to a Par 72, and both are a mandatory caddie experience for the traveling golfer.
