Wallasey is a brilliant, traditional links that offers an authentic, challenging day of golf. The course navigates undulating fairways that weave between towering natural sand dunes. The design offers a wonderful contrast: the opening holes are slightly gentler, winding through the lower dunes to ease you into the round. However, the course’s true character and challenge emerge fiercely on the middle and closing holes. You’ll encounter deep, punishing pot bunkers, firm, fast greens that demand creative approach shots, and a constant, often prevailing northwesterly wind rolling in from the Irish Sea.

This wind is the chief defense, making club selection incredibly tricky and penalizing anything less than a committed strike. Many experienced travelers point to the dramatic downhill Par-5 4th, with its spectacular sea views, and the challenging finish as the highlights, particularly the tough 18th hole framed by dunes leading back to the clubhouse.
