Scotland Golf History

Although there is some debate as to the exact origin of the game of golf, there is no doubt that its roots trace back to Scotland. In 1457, Scotland’s King James II had the nerve to ban his subjects from playing golf so that it wouldn’t distract them from more important pursuits, like archery and military training. Of course no one paid much heed to the ban, and since then golf has grown to be perhaps the oldest and most popular sport on the planet. There are a lot of places where you can go for a golf vacation, but only a Scottish golf travel package allows you to experience its true history.
